Okay, so only 3 weeks left until the baby graces us with her presence. I'm starting now to realize that I actually have to take care of this baby 24 hours a day!!! I hope I get the hang of the whole mom thing or it's gonna be really hard. Any advice before she comes?
You are going to be a wonderful mother! You have so many good examples to follow in your sisters and sister in-laws. I know I've learned a lot from the little time I've been with them. I was so nervous before Mannix came. I was never around babies and had NO idea what I was doing. But those motherly instincts just kicked in and I knew how to change a diaper. It's weird but once it happens to you, you'll understand. Don’t be worried or nervous. She’ll be your little girl and you’ll know what to do. I can’t wait to see her! Go jump on a trampoline and eat spicy food to get her here a little sooner! :)
When I had Emma I wanted to hold her all the time, but some people in my family told me not to because it would spoil her into thinking she needed to be held all the time. I still held her all the time and I don't regret it one bit. Love the time with just you and your first because it gets harder to give them attention when the next one comes. So, hold her a lot when she is sleeping and looking beautiful and enjoy every moment. Just don't be overprotective about other holding her, that is when they get spoiled!
First of all, you are going to be a fantastic mom! You've had a lot more experience with babies than most of us have, and Mercedi is right about having such great examples to follow. And on that note, there is nothing like parenthood to teach you how imperfect you are!!! Just when you think you have a hang of things, those cute little bundles of joy shake things up again! So our best advice to get you through it all is to never take yourself too seriously. Take it one day at a time, celebrate any and all successes, and remember that tomorrow is a new day and you can start all over! Good luck with everything! You will do great!!!! We can't wait to meet her this summer! Love you!
I'm not going to give you any advice because you're smart and it doesn't take long to figure things out. But I will say we want to see pictures when she gets here! And have you figure out a name? We are really bad at that.
